Miriam Mejía es una escritora dominicana residente en New York. Estudió Estadísticas y luego Sociología en la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo en la República Dominicana. Desde 1990 trabaja en Alianza Dominicana donde por los últimos cinco años se ha desempeñado como subdirectora. Publicó “Crisálida” en 1997 y “De Fantasmas interiores y otras complejidades” en el 2004. “Por un mango” un cuento que aparece en ese su último libro fue traducido al italiano. 

A native of the Dominican Republic, Mrs. Mejía studied Statistics and Sociology at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo in the nation’s capital. Subsequently, she dedicated ten years of her life to conducting sociological investigations on the status of women in her country.

In 1988, Mejía now married with three children immigrated to the United States. In the US, she became employed at Alianza Dominicana, one of the most recognized Dominican social service agencies in New York with nationwide recognition. For the last six years she has served as this agency’s Deputy Director.

Her first book “Crisálida” was published in 1997.
